Without butter, milk or eggs: it only needs a little seed oil to prepare it.

Water cake: simplicity and lightness

Water cake relies on using water as the main ingredient instead of butter, milk or eggs.

The water helps keep the dough hydrated and gives the cake a soft, moist texture.

Despite the absence of fatty ingredients, this cake still manages to be tasty and inviting.

You can customize your water cake by adding flavorings such as lemon zest as well as vanilla, spices, bitter cocoa or other flavorings.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups + 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of seeds oil
  • lemon zest to taste

 

 

METHOD:

Step 1

Pour the water into a mixing bowl and gradually add the flour.

Step 2

Mix with an electric mixer while gradually incorporating the seeds oil.

Step 3

Continue mixing and add the sugar.

Then, add the baking powder and finally the grated zest of one lemon.

Pour the mixture into a greased and floured baking pan and bake in the oven for 50 minutes at 350°F (180°C).
