If you want to prepare a mouth-watering pasta dish, this is the recipe for you!

This is a fish-based first course, ideal for a family lunch and also excellent in more formal situations.


An easy-to-make dish that can be accompanied with a glass of good white wine.

 

Seafood spaghetti with mussels shrimp tomato sauce and parsley

INGREDIENTS:

  • 7 oz of Spaghetti pasta
  • 12 oz of mussels
  • 6 oz of shrimps
  • 1 cup of tomato paste
  • 4 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/8 cup (30 ml.) of white wine
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • salt to taste
  • parsley to taste

 

METHOD

Carefully clean the mussels by scraping the outside to remove any remaining algae and sand.

Place the well-drained mussels in a large frying pan, cover them with a lid and pop them on a high flame for at least 5 to 8 minutes, until they are all open.

At this point, shell the mussels, keeping a few with the shells on, which will be used to decorate the dishes.

Keep the mussels warm and shell the fresh shrimp.

In a medium-sized saucepan, place the crushed garlic clove and the tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.

Turn on the heat to moderate flame and as soon as the garlic is golden brown, add the shrimp and sauté for a few minutes, then deglaze with the white wine and let it evaporate.

Now add the tomato pulp and shortly afterwards also the shelled mussels, stir carefully and let the sauce season on a very low flame for no more than 5 minutes.

When cooked, adjust the salt and keep the sauce warm.

Now proceed with cooking the pasta: put a pot with plenty of salted water on the stove and as soon as it comes to a boil, plunge the mezze maniche into it and stir occasionally.

When the pasta is cooked, toss it with the fish sauce and serve piping hot.

Decorate the dishes as desired with chopped fresh parsley.
