Shrimp fritters are an easy and tasty fish appetizer, a very simple recipe that is also great to serve for an appetizer or as a main course, varying the amounts a bit.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1//2 lb. of shrimp, coarsely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 tbsp of parsley, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp of breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 celery stick, chopped
  • all purpose flour as needed
  • vegetable oil for frying

 

METHOD
Place breadcrumbs, shrimp, egg, parsley, garlic, onion, celery, salt and pepper in a large bowl and stir.
The mixture will be very soft and a little liquid, if you think it is too liquid add a little more breadcrumbs.
Using a teaspoon, make small fritters balls and roll them in the flour.
Heat the oil and fry the fritters, about 5 minutes or till cooked and golden brown.
Place the fritters on kitchen paper towel to drain the extra oil and salt.
Serve the shrimp fritters hot.
