I present my Ricotta and Chocolate Squares, a dessert that is more than just a dessert: it is a culinary journey.

Every bite of these squares is a testament to the harmonious fusion of two distinct flavors.

The ricotta, with its soft, slightly sweet profile, forms a perfect canvas for the bold, bittersweet notes of the chocolate.

This combination creates a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate and leave you wanting more.

But the magic of these squares does not stop with the taste.

The visual appeal is equally impressive.

The rich, dark hue of the chocolate contrasts beautifully with the lighter, creamier color of the ricotta, making these squares as pleasing to the eye as they are to the taste buds.

This dessert is not only about satisfying a craving for dessert, but also about experiencing a unique blend of textures and flavors.

It is about sharing a joyful moment with loved ones.

It is about creating memories around the dinner table.

Makes about 16 squares

  • 2 cups of ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and sugar. Beat until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradically add this to the ricotta mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the squares to cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares.
  9. Serve and enjoy your Ricotta and Chocolate Squares!
