These delightful Ricotta and Orange Cookies are a perfect blend of creamy ricotta cheese and zesty orange flavor.

With a soft, cake-like texture and a citrusy glaze, these cookies are sure to brighten up any occasion.




Makes about 36 cookies

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1 orange
For the Glaze:
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the ricotta cheese, vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the Glaze:
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth.
  2. Once the cookies are completely cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top of each cookie.
