Chocolate Cake is a fluffy and delicious cupboard cake!
The mouthwatering cocoa variant of Grandma’s beloved classic Sponge Cake!
The fragrant and delicious cupboard cake perfect for dunking or even enjoying on its own, which keeps super soft for days!
- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup of unsalted butter
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup of all purpose flour
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract or vanilla powdered
- a pinch of salt
- 9 inch springform pan, buttered and floured
- powdered sugar to taste
Heat oven at 350 F.
Melt the butter over low heat in a medium size pan.
Add the chocolate and stir until completely melted.
Add the sugar and stir until melted.
Set the chocolate a side to cool.
In a large bowl, mix the eggs with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
Add the cooled chocolate mixture and mix.
Add the flour, vanilla and salt, mix well.
Pour the mixture in the buttered and floured springform pan and place in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until cooked.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
