In this recipe, we infuse traditional custard squares with the vibrant essence of Limoncello, adding a sophisticated twist to a classic dessert.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 packages of rectangular puff pastry sheets, store-bought
  • 1 Limoncello Custard Recipe
  • Granulated sugar, as needed
  • Powdered sugar, for garnish

 

METHOD:

 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 F.
  2. On a clean surface, unroll your pastry dough sheets. Use a rolling pin to flatten them gently, and then prick them with a fork to prevent puffing.
  3. Place one of the pastry sheets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Using a piping bag, spread the custard cream evenly over the pastry sheet, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Carefully place the second pastry sheet over the custard-covered one and seal the edges by pressing them together with your fingers or a fork.
  6. Sprinkle granulated sugar evenly over the top of the pastry.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, approximately 30 minutes.
  8. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.
  9. Cut the pastry into squares and dust with powdered sugar.
  10. Serve and enjoy these delicious squares for breakfast or as a snack. They’re also heavenly when served warm as a dessert with a scoop of ice cream.
