Shortcrust pastry is a very versatile basic preparation in the kitchen.

You can use it to prepare an endless variety of sweet recipes.


From tart filled with jam to delicious chocolate chip cookies or treats to be filled with custard.

 

 

 

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1-1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened and cut
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  •  a pinch of salt

 

METHOD

  • In a large bowl put flour and sugar. Make a well in center.
  • In center of well add butter, egg yolks, vanilla and salt.
  • Using hands, mix all ingredients.
  • Make a ball.
  • Cover with saran wrap and refrigerate at least 30 minutes.
