Light, airy, and rich in cocoa flavor, this cake is a perfect treat for any occasion.

The absence of a glaze allows the natural taste of the cake to shine, making it a pure chocolate lover’s dream.






  • 3/4 cup cocoa for batter+ more for dusting
  • 2+1/4 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1+ 1/2 cups of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp of baking powder
  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt
  • butter and cocoa or sugar a ring-shaped spring-form pan



  • In a large bowl beat the eggs untill light and fluffy.

  • Add the sugar and keep on mixing.

  • Add the butter and mix.

  • Add half of the flour, baking powder, salt (vanilla if powdered) to the mixture and mix well.

  • Add half of the milk and mix.

  • Add the other half of the flour and mix.

  • Add the rest of the milk, the vanilla extract (if liquid) and mix well.

  • Add the cocoa powder, mix.

  • Pour the mixture in the springform pan and place in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or untill a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

  • Let cool and take out of the pan.
