To be spread on toast, used as a dip for fruit or enjoyed straight from the spoon, this delicious chocolate and hazelnut creation is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Best of all, you can customize the sweetness and texture to suit your preferences.

Follow this easy recipe to create your own Nutella cream jar at home.

MAKES:2 cups of Nutella

  • 2 cups raw hazelnuts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the hazelnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast them for 12-15 minutes, or until the skins are blistered and the nuts are fragrant.
  2. Transfer the hot hazelnuts to a clean kitchen towel and rub them together to remove the skins. It’s okay if some skin remains.
  3. In a food processor, blend the peeled hazelnuts until they form a smooth, buttery paste. This may take several minutes, and you may need to scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally.
  4. Add the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt to the hazelnut paste. Blend until all the ingredients are well combined.
  5. With the food processor running, slowly pour in the vegetable oil. Continue blending until the mixture is silky and creamy.
  6. Taste the Nutella cream and adjust the sweetness or saltiness to your liking.
  7. Transfer the homemade Nutella cream to a clean, airtight jar and store it at room temperature for up to two weeks.
Enjoy your homemade Nutella cream on toast, waffles, fruit, or simply by the spoonful. It’s a delectable treat that’s perfect for any time of day!
